Noida rain tragedy: 28-year-old Aryan dies after falling into open drain | Breaking news | News18
Now getting some more breaking updates from Noida. This time a tragic rain-related accident in Noida has sparked fresh concerns over civic safety. A 28-year-old man, Aryan, died after allegedly falling into an open drain in Sector 57 while heading to work during heavy rain. He was rushed to hospital but was declared dead later. The incident has triggered outrage among residents who blame unsafe uncovered drains and have demanded immediate action from the Noida authority to prevent such tragedies from reoccurring. CNN News 18's Simran Babbar is joining us on this story. Simran, it seems that authorities in Noida are not learning any lesson. Any action that you are hearing from the authorities side after this tragic incident? Well, the immediate reaction that has come after this very tragic incident, Arun, is the local residents that have expressed their anger. It is more like a reactive, angered outrage that has poured in, given the civic apathy that has been only intensifying as even the monsoon rages on and actually grips also these areas that have been very poorly maintained. Due to the lack of the safety measures, the residents have come out openly and lashed out at the civic authorities stating that the drains have become the invisible debt trap. When they are filled with water, they are never being catered to during the rains and significantly that has increased the risk of such very accidents. And remember, this particular death has not been just lone incident even in the national capital. There have been deaths that have reported in the other areas of the outer district where The 7-year-old child has drowned into that entire water pit and just a day before it was a young girl, 3-year-old girl in Ghaziabad so it's the entire NCR. Unfortunately, even just the residents and their apathy is given a day's time for even the civic authorities to be even remembering but at the very same time, this continues up into the district hospital but doctors unfortunately declared him brought dead and as of now the issue of the open and unsafe drains in Noida is only continuing to be aggressively raised by the residents. Absolutely and the irony of the situation is that these authorities never learn any lesson from such incidents. Thank you so much Simran for joining us and sharing all these details.
