Eligibility Criteria
Who Can Apply? Must be an Indian citizen. Men, women, and third gender Home Guards may apply. Must be enrolled and trained in the Bihar Home Guard Vahini organization. Must have completed at least 5 years of service/duty in the organization. Must have at least 10 years of remaining service left as on the cut-off date considered for appointment (i.e., the application cut-off date). Must meet the physical and educational qualifications prescribed for the post. BPSSC Company Commander Qualification Candidates must have passed a graduate examination from a recognised university, or an equivalent examination recognised by the State Government, on or before 01 August, 2026.

Select Advertisement Link : Click on the specific link related to Advertisement No. 11/2026 for the Company Commander post. Keep Credentials Ready : Ensure you have a valid, active mobile number and an individual email ID ready before starting registration. Complete Registration (Part-1) : Fill in basic personal details including name, nationality, mobile number, email ID, domicile, reservation category, gender, and date of birth. Pay Application Fee : Make the online payment of ₹100 using valid payment modes like Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. Retrieve Login Details : Note down the registration number and password received via SMS and email after successful registration and payment. Fill Application Form (Part-2) : Log in using your credentials to complete the remaining sections, including parent details, address, and educational qualifications. Upload Photo and Signature : Scan and upload a recent passport-size color photograph (white background, 15–25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format) and signatures in English and Hindi (15–25 KB). Selection Process
Written Examination : The selection process begins with a written examination consisting of two phases: a preliminary exam and a main exam. Preliminary Examination : A 200-mark objective type paper comprising 100 questions on general knowledge and current events, lasting 2 hours, where candidates must score at least 30% to qualify. Main Examination : Shortlisted candidates from the prelims appear for the main exam, which features Paper I (200 marks for General Hindi, lasting 2 hours) and Paper II (200 marks for General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability Test, lasting 2 hours). Physical Efficiency Test (PET) : Candidates numbering 6 times the total vacancies based on the main exam results are selected for the physical standards and efficiency test, which is qualifying in nature. Physical Standards & Efficiency Criteria : Male and female candidates must clear specific measurements (height, chest/weight) and pass physical events including a run, high jump, long jump, and shot put within prescribed limits. Document Verification & Merit List : The final merit list is prepared category-wise based on marks obtained in the main written examination, followed by document verification, medical examination, and character antecedents verification.
