Relaxation in Upper Age Limit for Ex-Servicemen
According to the government order dated February 28, 1985, an age relaxation of up to five years is granted for appointments to Group A and Group B posts that are filled through competitive direct recruitment examinations. This relaxation applies to emergency commissioned officers, short-service commissioned officers, ex-servicemen, and commissioned officers who have completed at least five years of military service, with the exact relaxation calculated based on the length of their service. This age concession is also extended to military personnel and officers who are due to be discharged within a period of six months. However, this relaxation is strictly not permitted for individuals who have been dismissed from service due to misconduct or inefficiency, nor for those who have been released due to physical unfitness or disability considered undesirable for military service.
