How to Apply
Visit Website : Go to the official NTA UGC NET portal: `ugcnet.nta.nic.in`. New Registration : Click on the 'New Registration' link and provide basic details (email/mobile) to generate an Application Number. Complete Form : Log in with your new credentials and fill out the detailed application form with personal and academic information. Upload Documents : Upload your scanned passport-size photo (10-200 KB) and signature (4-30 KB) in JPEG format. Pay Fee : Pay the application fee online via Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or Net Banking. Confirmation : Download and print the Confirmation Page, as it's proof of successful submission.
Selection Process
Exam Structure : A Computer Based Test (CBT) with two papers, Paper 1 (Teaching & Research Aptitude) and Paper 2 (Subject-Specific), both combined for 3 hours. Eligibility : Master's degree in a relevant subject with minimum marks (55% for General, 50% for Reserved categories). Qualifying Criteria : General : 40% aggregate in both papers. Reserved Categories : 35% aggregate in both papers. Awarding JRF/Assistant Professor : Assistant Professor : Determined by subject-wise cut-offs. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) : Awarded to top-scoring candidates (above Assistant Professor cut-off), with an age limit of 30 (relaxable). For PhD : Assistant Professor eligibility applies, with no upper age limit.
