RFID-Based Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
All India except Ladakh Region: Male candidates must qualify a 5 km run within 24 minutes. Ladakh Region only: Male candidates must qualify a 1.6 km run within 7 minutes. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device)-based PST/PET will be conducted at Jorhat (Assam) or Diphu (Assam) centre; the exact reporting date will be intimated later on the official website after successful submission of the online application.
How to Apply?
Step 1 : Visit Website — Go to the official Assam Rifles website at www.assamrifles.gov.in and click on the 'ONLINE APPLICATION' option. Step 2 : Fill Application Form — Enter the requisite details as prescribed in the application form very carefully, ensuring correct details are filled in each field since no changes are allowed after final submission. Step 3 : Upload Documents & Certifications — Submit/upload necessary documents including Domicile/Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), caste/category certificates (if applicable), and ensure a functional email ID and non-DND mobile number are provided. Step 4 : Make Payment — Deposit the application fee of Rs. 100/- online via the provided link or at SBI Bank Counters into SBI Current Account No. 37088046712 (HQ DGAR, Recruitment Branch, Shillong -10, SBI Laitkor Branch IFSC Code SBIN0013883), noting that SC, ST, and Ex-servicemen are exempt from the fee. Step 5 : Upload Payment Proof — Upload a copy of the payment receipt or challan online, making sure to keep the original copy safe to produce during the RFID-based PST/PET. Step 6 : Print & Complete — Print a completed copy of the online Application Form along with a downloaded copy of the notification to bring along for verification and subsequent rally events.
Selection Process
Step 1 : Initial Documentation & RFID-Based PST / PET — Candidates who successfully submit their online applications will report to the designated center (Jorhat or Diphu, Assam) for document verification followed by a Physical Standard Test (PST) (checking height, weight, and chest standards) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (such as a 5 km run within 24 minutes for male candidates, except for specific regions like Ladakh). Step 2 : Computer Based Test (CBT) — Candidates who qualify in the RFID-based PET/PST and documentation verification will be shortlisted for a 100-mark Computer Based Test, requiring minimum pass marks of 35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Step 3 : Trade Skill Test — Successful candidates from the CBT will be called in a 1:4 ratio (about 4 times the number of vacancies) to undergo a Trade Skill Test, which includes a computer test and a specific practical skill test (no marks awarded; evaluated as pass/fail). Step 4 : Documents Verification (DV) & Detailed Medical Examination (DME) — Candidates who pass the Trade Skill Test proceed to final document verification and a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) (along with any Review Medical Examination if declared unfit) conducted according to CAPF guidelines. Step 5 : Final Merit List & Training — Candidates who successfully clear all preceding stages will be placed in the Merit List based on category and trade-wise vacancies, followed by calls to join the training centre for final enrolment.
