How to Apply?
Step 1 : Verify Eligibility - Ensure you meet all age, educational qualification, and GATE 2026 requirements before proceeding. Step 2 : Pay Application Fee - Deposit the non-refundable fee of Rs. 500/- online through the specified State Bank of India account (SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempt). Step 3 : Access Online Application - Visit the official DTL website at www.dtl.gov.in and navigate to the online application form. Step 4 : Fill Out Form and Upload Documents - Enter accurate details including GATE 2026 marks, and upload scanned copies of your passport-size photo (20KB to 50KB) and signature (10KB to 20KB). Step 5 : Submit and Generate Registration - Submit the online application successfully to generate a system-approved Unique Registration Number. Step 6 : Print Application Form - Take a printout of the submitted online application form for your records and subsequent hardcopy submission. Step 7: Compile Supporting Documents - Gather your birth certificate/matriculation certificate, all educational mark sheets and degree certificates, GATE 2026 score card, bank transaction proof, category certificates, and a government ID proof (such as Aadhaar or PAN card). Step 8 : Mail Hardcopy Application - Send the printed application form along with all required self-attested documents via Speed Post to the Asstt. Selection Process
Basis of Selection : The selection is carried out based on valid GATE 2026 scores (Normalized Marks out of 100) in the respective discipline paper codes : AM(T) Trainee - Electrical : Valid GATE 2026 score in Paper Code "EE" (Electrical Engineering or equivalent). AM(T) Trainee - Non-Electrical : Valid GATE 2026 score in Paper Code "EC" (Electronics & Communication Engineering or equivalent) and/or "CS" (Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology or equivalent). AM (Civil) Trainee : Valid GATE 2026 score in Paper Code "CE" (Civil Engineering or equivalent). Merit Lists : Separate merit lists are prepared for each of the three categories based on the normalized GATE 2026 marks. Training & Final Assessment : Selected candidates undergo a 1-year training period, which includes 3 months of academic training (with an examination requiring a minimum of 65% marks) followed by 9 months of field/on-job training. Quarterly reviews are conducted, and a final assessment committee evaluates candidates upon completing the year. A minimum of 65% marks is required in the final assessment for successful absorption into Pay Level-10. Seniority Fixation : For the Assistant Manager (Technical) cadre, inter-se seniority between Electrical and Non-Electrical streams is regulated in a 9:1 ratio (after every 9 electrical candidates based on merit, 1 non-electrical candidate is placed). For the Assistant Manager (Civil) cadre, inter-se seniority is determined strictly according to the candidate's order of merit.
