Relaxation in Upper Age Limit for Ex-Servicemen

A Relaxation of 3 years plus the exact length of service rendered in the defense services is allowed, provided that their actual age does not exceed 57 years on the date of application. Valid supporting certificates must be submitted.

How to Apply?

Step 1 : Check Eligibility : Ensure you meet the minimum age of 21 years (as of 01.08.2026) and possess the required educational qualifications or degrees in relevant disciplines like food technology, dairy technology, biotechnology, medicine, or allied fields.
Step 2: Visit Official Website : Go to the official website of the Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) at www.btsc.bihar.gov.in to access the online application portal.
Step 3 : Register Online : Complete the initial registration process by providing basic details and generating your login credentials within the active application window from 25 September, 2026 to 24 October, 2026.
Step 4: Fill Out Application Form : Carefully enter all personal, educational, and category details accurately into the online application form, making sure to select your correct reservation or relaxation category if applicable.
Step 5: Upload Required Documents : Scan and upload all mandatory documents, certificates, mark sheets, and a recent passport-sized photograph (with a white background, open eyes, and taken within the last 3 months) strictly as per specifications.
Step 6 : Pay Application Fee : Submit the fixed application fee of Rs. 100 online using a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI, and save the payment transaction receipt.
Step 7 : Final Submission and Printout : Submit the completed application form before the final deadline of 24 October, 2026 and download/print a hard copy of the final submitted application along with the payment receipt for future verification.

Selection Process

Written Competition Exam : The selection is based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) worth 100 total marks containing multiple-choice questions.
Normalization Process : Since the exam will be conducted in multiple shifts, results will be prepared using a normalization procedure.
Minimum Qualifying Marks : Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying percentage based on their category (Unreserved: 40%, BC: 36.5%, EBC: 34%, SC/ST/Women/PwBD: 32%).
Document Verification : Shortlisted candidates must present their original certificates and online uploaded documents for verification by the Commission.
Mandatory Training : Selected and recommended candidates will be appointed only after completing a required training program conducted by the State Government in collaboration with FSSAI, New Delhi.
