The selection process for the Group 'A' posts (Senior Environmental Engineer, Environmental Engineer, and Assistant Environmental Engineer) totals 100 marks and is based on a structured weightage system evaluating academic qualifications, professional experience, national exams, and an interview. Percentage of marks in Minimum Qualification (Max. 10 Marks) : For marks above 60% : 10 marks. Below 60% : 0 marks. 0.25 marks are awarded for each percentage unit over and above 60% (e.g., 62.4% results in (62.4-60) x 0.25 = 0.6 marks).
Higher / Additional Qualifications (Max. 10 Marks) : Relevant Experience (Max. 25 Marks) : Awarded for experience in environment, pollution control, and/or Public Health Engineering after/before acquiring minimum qualifications. Marks vary per year depending on the category of experience (Categories A, B, C, D based on pay scale/CTC) and whether the service was in a Pollution Control Board/Committee (CPCB/SPCB/PCC) or other organizations. Note: Full-time academic acquisition time, training (excluding on-the-job), internships, teaching, fellowships, and Ph.D. research experience are excluded from being counted as experience.
