GATE 2027 Educational Qualification Requirements

• Currently Studying : Enrolled in the 3rd or higher year of any undergraduate degree program.
• Already Completed : Successfully completed any UGC/AICTE/Government-approved degree program in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities.

• B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm. / B.Arch. / B.Sc. (Research) / B.S. / Integrated Master's / Integrated B.S.-M.S. : Currently in the 3rd year or higher, or already completed.
• M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. / B.V.Sc. : Currently in the 5th, 6th, 7th, or higher semester, or already completed.
• B.Sc. (Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry) : Currently in the 3rd or 4th year, or already completed.
• M.Sc. / M.A. / M.C.A. (or equivalent) / Higher Degrees : Currently in the 1st year or higher, or already completed.
• Professional Societies Examinations : Completed Section A or equivalent of professional courses (such as AMIE by the Institution of Engineers-India) recognized by MoE/UPSC/AICTE.

How to Apply?

• Check Eligibility : Ensure you are currently enrolled in at least the 3rd year of an undergraduate program or have already completed an approved degree.
• Register Online : Visit the official GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) website and complete the primary registration using a valid email address and mobile number.
• Fill Application Form : Log in with your credentials, enter your personal and academic details, and select up to two preferred paper codes and examination cities.
• Upload Documents : Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, valid photo ID (such as a Passport, PAN card, or Voter ID), and required category or disability certificates if applicable.
• Pay Examination Fee : Complete the application fee payment online via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI based on your gender and category.
• Submit and Print : Review the complete application form carefully, submit it finally, and save a downloaded copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

Selection Process

• Online Application : Register and submit your details via the official GOAPS portal.

• Admit Card Issuance : Download your hall ticket online once released by the organizing institute.

• Computer-Based Test : Appear for the 3-hour online examination for your chosen test paper code.

• Response Key & Challenge : Review official answer keys and raise objections if discrepancies are found.

• Result & Scorecard : Access your final marks, All India Rank, and scorecard valid for three years.

• Admission or Recruitment : Use your valid score for centralized postgraduate counselling (like COAP or CCMT) or direct PSU job applications.
