Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualifications & Training Period

For Ex-ITI Candidates :

• Fitter, Electrician & Machinist :

  • Passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or its equivalent.

  • Possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT of one year and above.

  • Training Period : 1 year.

• Carpenter, Painter & Welder :

  • Passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) under the 10+2 system or its equivalent.

  • Possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT of one year and above.

  • Training Period: 1 year.  

• PASAA (Programming and System Administration Assistant) :

  • Passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks).

  • Possess a National Trade Certificate in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Database System Assistant, or Software Testing Assistant issued by NCVT or SCVT of one year and above.

  • Training Period : 1 year.

For Freshers :

• Fitter, Electrician & Machinist :

  • Passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or its equivalent.

  • Training Period: 2 years.

• Carpenter & Painter :

  • Passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under the 10+2 system or its equivalent.

  • Training Period : 2 years.

• Welder :

  • Passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under the 10+2 system or its equivalent.

  • Training Period : 1 year 3 months.  

• MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician - Radiology & Pathology) :

  • Passed Std XII examination under the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  • Training Period : 1 year 3 months.

Age Limits (As on 07 September, 2026)

• ITI Candidates : Must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years.

• Non-ITI (Freshers) Candidates : Must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22 years.

Age Relaxations :

• SC / ST : Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years.

• OBC : Upper age limit relaxable by 3 years.

• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) : Upper age limit relaxable by 10 years.

Disqualification on Higher Qualifications

• Candidates with higher qualifications than required (such as Degree/Diploma or Engineering Degree, and Course Completed Act Apprentices) are not eligible to apply, with the exception of MLT where the required qualification is 12th/HSC.

How to Apply?

• Visit Web Portal : Log on to the official ICF web portal at https://pb.icf.gov.in to access the online application.

• Review Notification : Read the complete notification thoroughly before filling out the required details and preparing your documents.

• Prepare Documents : Keep all relevant certificates and a recent passport-size photograph (not more than 200 KB in jpg/jpeg format) ready for upload.

• Fill and Submit Form : Complete the online application form correctly with your details and submit it.

• Pay Processing Fee : Pay the non-refundable processing fee of ₹100 online (exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates) and preserve the transaction ID starting with 'DU'.

• Print Acknowledgement : Generate and print the system-acknowledgement form after final submission to present during document verification.

Selection Process

• Mode of Engagement : Merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in Std X (or IX/X half-yearly for COVID pass candidates).

• Tie-Breaking Rule : Older candidates are preferred for same marks; if dates of birth match, the one who passed Std X earlier is considered.

• Trade Allotment : Freshers choose trades by merit and availability (no changes allowed post-allotment), while Ex-ITI candidates train in their certified trade.

• Medical Fitness : Selected candidates must submit a government-authorized medical fitness certificate during document verification.

• Contract Execution : Selected candidates (or their guardians if minors) must execute an apprenticeship contract under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
