Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) - Class VI (6th) Admission - 2027-28 (665 Seats)

Eligibility Details

• Candidate Must be Studying in Class V during the academic session 2026-27 in a recognized school (Govt./ Govt. Aided/ Recognized/ NIOS).
• Candidate Must be Bonafide resident of the same district where he/she is seeking admission.
• Must have studied Classes III, IV, and V by spending one full academic session in each class.
• Candidates who have passed class V before the session 2026-27 or repeater candidates are not eligible.

Reservation Details

• At least 75% seats are reserved for candidates from rural areas.
• Reservation for SC, ST and OBC candidates will be provided as per Government of India norms.
• Minimum one-third seats are reserved for girls.
• Reservation is also available for eligible Divyang candidates.

How to Apply

• Visit Portal : Go to the official Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti admission portal linked via https://navodaya.gov.in.

• Review Prospectus : Download and read the notification-cum-prospectus to confirm all eligibility criteria.

• Prepare Documents : Keep soft copies (JPG, 10–100 kb) of the candidate's photograph, candidate's signature, parent's signature, and residence proof/Aadhaar ready.

• Fill Application : Log in to the registration portal to enter candidate details (State, District, Block, etc.) and upload the prepared documents.

• Final Submission : Verify all entered data for accuracy as the submission is final and binding, then submit the application online before the deadline of 31 July, 2026.  

• Seek Assistance : If needed, visit the helpdesk at your local JNV for free assistance with the online application process.

Selection Process

• Registration : Apply online through the official NVS admission portal at https://navodaya.gov.in.

• Eligibility Check : Ensure the candidate is studying in Class V during the 2026-27 session, is a bona fide resident of the district, and meets the age criteria (born between 01 May, 2015 and 31 July, 2017).

• Admit Card Download : Download the admit card from the NVS portal, which will be made available closer to the examination date.

• Examination : Appear for the JNVST on November 28, 2026, which consists of an objective-type test covering Mental Ability, Arithmetic, and Language.

• Result Announcement : Check the official NVS website or local district offices (JNV, District Education Officer, etc.) for results, expected by the end of March 2027.

• Document Verification : If provisionally selected, submit all required original certificates (e.g., proof of birth, residence, rural/urban status, and category certificates) to the respective JNV for verification.

• Final Admission : Complete the formal admission process at the allotted JNV, which must be finalized by August 31, 2027.
