Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class-VIII (8th) standard. Those who have passed HSSLC (12th) or above are ineligible to apply. Candidates with special skills may be given preference on a need basis.
  • Residency: Must be an indigenous inhabitant of the State of Nagaland belonging to the following tribes: Any Naga Tribes, Kuki, Kachari, Garo, Mikir.
  • Age Limit:
    • Minimum: 18 years
    • Maximum: 32 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 5 years relaxation (upper age limit of 37 years).
    • Government Employees: Relaxation equal to years of service served, subject to a maximum of 5 years.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of two stages:

  1. Stage-I: Written Examination (50 marks) – An objective type (multiple choice) written test of 90 minutes duration on an OMR sheet. The syllabus will include General Knowledge/Current Affairs, General English, and General Mathematics of Class VIII standard.
  2. Stage-II: Interview/Viva-Voce (20 marks) – Candidates will be called for the interview in a 1:5 ratio based on merit in the written exam. A candidate must secure at least 60% (12 out of 20 marks) in the interview to be considered qualified.

The final selection will be based on the total marks obtained in both the written examination and the interview.
