Shafali Verma creates history, smashes fastest 50 in Women's Asia Cup

Indian opener Shafali Verma smashed the fastest half-century in Women’s Asia Cup history on Sunday (September 13), taking only 24 balls to get to the mark in the 2026 final against Sri Lanka. She beat the record of her opening partner Smriti Mandhana, who hit a 25-ball fifty against the same opponent in 2022.

This was also Shafali’s third half-century in this tournament, the joint-most in a Women’s T20 Asia Cup edition, matching Chamari Athapatthu’s three in 2024.
