Food delivery platform enforces zero tolerance to analogue paneer

Online food delivery app somato has banned the sale of dishes containing analog dairy products on its platform The company says that it has adopted a zero-tolerance policy and restaurants failing to transition to natural Dairy or remove such items face immediate delisting analog cottage cheese and that's paneer and other dairy substitutes They are facing increasing Scrutiny across India, at least eight states including Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab have banned the production, storage, distribution and sale of such paneer. Analog dairy products replace milk components with ingredients like vegetable oils, starch, plant proteins. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, FSSAI, previously clarified that serving or selling cheese analogs under the label of natural paneer violates the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Aditya Mangla, CEO of Zomato, stated that the company's core mission is better food for more people, which means safeguarding customer health and upholding clear standards for what's listed and served by the restaurant partners. Key compliance requirements for restaurants will now include transition immediately to natural dairy products or strip affected dishes from menus, reviewing supplier labels and ingredient declarations to ensure complete listing accuracy on the platform and comply fully to avoid permanent removal from Zomato.
