iPhone 18 Pro: Here’s why you might pay Rs 1,50,000 for the new flagship this year
![]()
Apple is bringing the new iPhone 18 Pro series next month and we are actually not that far from the company confirming the big date in September 2026. We could also see Apple’s first iPhone foldable at the event.
But the bigger news is related to how much the new iPhone 18 Pros will be priced in the market this year, and most rumours hint at being around Rs 1,50,000 if you want to buy the iPhone 18 Pro in India.
Apple’s outgoing chief, Tim Cook has warned about the ‘avoidable costs’ linked to the memory prices surging in the last 6 to 10 months and we have already seen its impact on the new Samsung Galaxy foldables as well as the Pixel 11 series from Google. Could Apple be next?
Pricier iPhone 18 Pro Coming
The Rs 1,50,000 price for the iPhone 18 Pro has been reported widely in the last few weeks. Globally, Apple is tipped to ask $100 (Rs 9,600 approx) more across the iPhone 18 Pro lineup but that price tag in India could easily pass the Rs 13,000 to Rs 15,000 range. The iPhone 17 Pro had launched for Rs 1,34,900 and a hike at this level will make it as expensive as the 13-inch MacBook Air 16GB variant in the country.
What To Expect From iPhone 18 Pro At This Price?
The iPhone 18 Pro will be the compact of the two versions in the series once again. It will be powered by the same A20 Pro chip with 12GB RAM as with the 18 Pro Max model. The cameras could see some changes, with the bigger flagship offering a new telephoto and a variable aperture on the sensors.
The 18 Pro is expected to get a new 48MP main camera along with other iOS 27-centric features. Siri AI will be a core part of these devices and Apple will be eager to flaunt everything the new version of the assistant can offer that too on-device. The battery size could also get a slight bump but we are more keen to see the leaked Cherry red colour for the 18 Pro models.
Apple tends to test the loyalty and popularity of its products by increasing their prices every now and then. This year’s will probably be the biggest challenge that the buy might be about to face.
