Couple turns Nandigram Express first AC coach into honeymoon suite with roses and balloons; TTE suspended | Video

The Ministry of Railways has suspended a ticket checker and ordered a departmental inquiry after a video showing a first AC coupe of the Nandigram Express decorated as a ‘honeymoon suite’ went viral on social media. The clip showed an Indian Railways first AC coupe decorated like a ‘honeymoon suite’, filled with flowers, balloons and rose petals.

First AC Coupe Decorated For Couple

In a statement, cited by news agency ANI, the Railways said the decoration was arranged privately by a couple, but the decorator’s entry into the coach was unauthorised and a serious lapse. The incident took place on July 6 in Train No. 11002 Nandigram Express, which runs between Mumbai CSMT and Balharshah. According to railway officials, a couple had privately hired a decorator through an online service to decorate their first AC coupe.
